For Kimberley Lim, going to a polytechnic after ‘O’ levels was considered a risk, as most of her peers opted for the JC route. But, Kimberley preferred the applied learning approach in polytechnic as it augured well with her learning style.
Kimberley came to SP’s Open House and was drawn to the Diploma in Biomedical Science. The kinaesthetic learner liked that the course would provide her with a solid foundation in clinical science.
In SP, Kimberley led community service initiatives including public health screenings. She also took the diploma plus programme in phlebotomy, which certified her to draw blood from patients. Kimberly took up a three-week internship at a local polyclinic which affirmed her decision to pursue a career in the healthcare sector.
Fuelled by her passion, the future surgeon is currently in NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Kimberly joins 26 illustrious SP alumni who have chosen to pursue a medical degree locally.
