I can overcome all odds

Will I fit in? Will I do well in poly? These were questions in the mind of Muhammad Khairul Anwar Jamil when he started his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering course.

Unlike his course mates, Khairul went to junior college and did badly for his A levels. After failing to find a job, Khairul decided to give the polytechnic route a try.

Those initial doubts soon vanquished as he received support and encouragement from his lecturers. Khairul began to enjoy learning and the internship opportunities also ignited his passion for Engineering. Three years later, Khairul graduated as a valedictorian with a near perfect GPA.

Khairul subsequently furthered his studies at the National University of Singapore and recently graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) with Honours(Highest Distinction). Khairul’s passion and positive attitude also saw him securing a job with one of the world’s largest oilfield services company in Ecuador!
