Engineer Without Borders

Engineer without borders

Did someone say robot? Check out this life-saving robot our Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (DEEE) students built during their overseas internship in Japan!

Low Ting Zhen, Tan Wei Xun and Shaza Dhanea created a robot, affectionately named ‘Sot Sot’, capable of helping with disaster relief efforts. They even 3D printed most of the components for Sot Sot, how cool is that!
Inspired by a lift truck which is able to lift items up horizontally, the team came up with their rescue robot which is able to clear debris and pave the way for volunteers doing disaster relief work.

Ting Zhen shares, “The satisfaction we got when our prototype was overwhelming! It was really exciting as we had the chance to apply the theories we learnt in classrooms to a very meaningful project.”
