Jonathan Peh knew he was in trouble when he was in secondary four. He was weak in all subjects except a decent grade in Physics. After his O’s, he eyed the Diploma in Civil Engineering with Business (DCEB), a course solely offered by SP. But, his results could barely make it to the course. He was eventually accepted after making an appeal. Given a second chance, he was determined to turn his life around.
Jonathan studied hard and topped his course. “SP gave me a second chance to learn and excel, I wanted to pay it forward” he shared. He tutored his SP juniors and returned to his alma mater to coach students who were weak in Physics.
Jonathan was also the SP Symphonic Band’s Concert Master. He conducted and orchestrated a piece titled “Pokémon Suite” due to his love for the virtual monsters.
Jonathan is now doing his second year at Imperial College London, under the prestigious Land Transport Authority Local/Overseas Scholarship which allows him to study engineering at any English-speaking university in the world.
He plans to return to SP as a lecturer because, in his own words,
“SP has made it possible for me, so I hope to make it possible for others who want a second chance.”
