Everyone loves food and Diploma in Food Science & Technology (DFST) alumna Chee Pei Yi is no different.
But Pei Yi’s love for food goes beyond simply eating them. She chose SP’s DFST after O’s as the idea of learning about food innovation concepts and commercializing them interest her greatly. During her time in SP, she took on a 20-week internship at Ingredion where she assisted technologists in the emulsion and encapsulation department.
She enjoyed her first taste of working on projects for real clients and took the chance to do an Advanced Diploma in Food Science, an 18-month Earn and Learn Programme (ELP). This ELP allows her to work at Ingredion and learn new concepts in SP. Pei Yi will graduate with three additional certificates – in Food Product Innovation, Food Processing, and Food Safety and Quality Management. These will help her progress in her dream to become a researcher in the food R&D sector.
